Easy Vhs To Dvd For Windows

nancybla@verizon.net

Question

I finally got the home movie to copy to the computer. But it looks like it.s just snapping shots every 5 seconds. I adjusted the speed to SLOW. Didn't help. Do I need to change ratio or other things to make it work? I've been trying to get this ALL WEEKEND. I opened my big mouth and told my family that I'd get all the home videos of 30 years on DVDs. Can anyone help ME????

Need some more details.....- What version do you have http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/64988-what-version-do-i-have/ ?.

What O/S - XP/Vista/W7 ?.

What specific application in the Roxio program are you using ?.

How do you have the VCR hooked up to the Roxio USB ?

As a quick test, connect a DVD or camcorder as your source, and see if that works.

Easy VHS to DVD for PC (is that the answer you were looking for on that.

I actually have a camcorder with 8mm tape plugged into usb adapter provided by roxio. I'm wondering if I need to copy the 8mm to VCR then VCR to computer. I didn't see the difference it would rune through the same cord,

I can't connect camcorder to DVD player but i could try it with one of my vhs tapes and the vcr. THANKS

OK Nancy, you have the 201B Version and a PC that is at the minimum but that should not be a problem!

Your problem, usually indicates that your signal from the VCR is too weak to stay above the minimum needed.

I have never encountered this but the usual “fixes” are to plug the device directly into the back of your PC.

Keep you VCR on a short leash, one user reported using a 30’ cable!

Even that may not be enough if the tape has degraded.

The DVD Player is the best test you can make. These Players have strong signals.

Thank you for your trying to help. Went to Best Buy with all my equipment, and the manager couldn't even get it work. Tried a dazzle, that didn't work. I finally just broke down and bought a VHS/DVD with record capabilities. I will plug my camcorder into that and record then it all works out because i can take the disk and put it on my Roxio photoshow 6 and really jazz them up, I THINK.

TAKE CARE. HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you & yours!

It is not quite that simple. Roxio PhotoShow 6 is for creating slideshows with an occasional video clip. You cannot do any editing of video with it. You will have to use the editing capabilities of VHS2DVD to make short clips that you can use in PhotoShow.
