Program Does Not Start

ingrid lefevre

Question

Hi there,

Hopefully someone can help me out.

Some months ago (March 2010) I bought the easy vhs to dvd key.

Although the wizard announced that installation was successful I could not start the program.

I did have a shortcut on the desktop but it would only open the roxio logo and no program.

At the time I contacted roxio technical support but the problem was not solved (long story about what seemed standard answers to any question except to my problem), but I finally gave up and put away the package unused.

In the meantime our vhs player is broken and since the only reason to replace it, are the old tapes I would like to transfer on dvd, I wanted to try the key again.

I re-installed, and of course I still have the same problem.

Installation wizard asked me first to uninstall previous version and everything seemed to run OK. In the end wizard told me that the installation was successful and I was asked to restart the pc.

Unfortunately double click of the shortcut on the desktop again only opens a roxio logo for a few secs and nothing more.

Also, in the start menu there is no trace of the roxio program. I can find the files in the folder that the wizard proposed during the installation though, but no obvious .exe file. Maybe it is hidden somewhere in a subfolder, but nothing easy to find for me.

I must say that no incoming signal was connected to the usb key when I tried the desktop shortcut key this time(as the reason to retry it is the decision about replacing broken vhs player or not).

Pc: Sony Vaio

Processor speed: 2,67Ghz

RAM: 4GB

Free hard drive space:297Gb

Operating System: vista service pack 2

Hope someone can solve my problem.

Thanks,

Ingrid

I have the exact same problem. Have tried reinstalling and all the other crap Roxio suggested, but still no way to run the program. Since no one has bothered to answer your post I assume there is no way to get this program to run. I guess I'll just have some fun blasting Roxio on the forums until they wake up and help us.

Good luck.
