ggrussell
VIA Audio chipset driver site Just select your OS and Type of driver and audio chipset in the drop-down lists. I have the VIA HD audio VT1708S chipset with 8 channel audio output. So far the new driver work great and love the new interface.

ggrussell
The interface looks pretty much the same.Have to see if there's any difference. The last version I had was 7300a dated 2009. I don't check the VIA site much. This driver is V8700a dated Oct 2010. Hopefully they did more than slap a pretty face on it. LOL
tbrewst
Since I got a new MB it came with fairly recent drivers. The ones I had were from July. You can do a fair amount of tweaking with the app. I've only got 5.1 hooked up but after a bit of messing about I've got it sounding fairly decent. ggrussell
I have mine set up with 8 speakers. Sounds great and have had very little trouble.
tbrewst
On mine I really only use it for music so the surround sound doesn't really come into play. I turned the Speaker Fill on and it sends the sound to the rear.Kinda like old Quadraphonic sound...lol Sounds better for music though.
