I just bought Roxio Creator 2011 yesterday, in hopes of making a recruiting video for college. I have 20+ DVDs of volleyball matches from years past and need to cut out clips of me playing to add into the final product. The VOB files loaded onto VideoWave fine; they read as a 50min. movie. But when I went to split the scene I needed, I got an error message reading "The selected item cannot be split at this position, because one or both of the resulting items would be too small."
I looked at some forums from the 2010 edition, and some Gurus said the minimum time frame amount is about 10 or 15. But supposedly that's about 1/3 of a second--My clips are at least four seconds long each! I don't understand why I can't split them and move on.
I tried trimming the video also, but every time I use the trim feature, VideoWave unexpectedly quits and the whole program closes (I saw another thread where someone was talking about that too).
My last resort would be to use Copy&Convert to convert all the VOB files to MPEG4s or WMVs, so I could open them in Windows Movie Maker and edit the clips freely from there. But it would take FOREVER to convert all the files, especially because resolution is a big issue.
HELP HELP HELP me, please! I wanted to get this video out by mid-January. And by the looks of it, the whole project is a bust
