Occasional Failure To Complete Encoding Of Movie Files

Akominatus

Question

I use Toast Titanium v.10.0.8 to burn movies in AVI or MOV format to DVDs from my iMac (iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.5.8). However, Toast will occasionally suddenly stop in the middle of encoding for no obvious reason; once this occurs, it continues to do so with the same file. It does not appear to be due to damaged or corrupt files, as the movies will play without problem from hard disk.

I am attaching a Word file with the full contents of Apple's Problem Report, but the gist of it seems to be the following:

...........................................................

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)

Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x000000000a652000

Crashed Thread: 8

............................................................

Thread 8 Crashed:

0 com.DivXInc.DivXDecoder 0x02bdda36 AVIMovieImportGetFileType + 33494

............................................................

Can anybody advise me on how to get around this problem?

Thanks in advance.
