crashagain
My newly purchased creator 2011 pro DVD Install disk will not work in my Windows XP SP3 computer. This disk however will be read correctly in my other Windows XP Pro i7 cpu system, also this disk can be read in my windows vista lap top. My DVD drive that will not read this install disk, will however read and install roxio creator 9, without any problems. It looks like a media problem with this newly purchased DVD install disk. Brendon
Hello, Easy Media Creator 9 was on a CD. Creator 2011 is on a DVD. Are you sure that your XP SP3 computer has a DVD drive like your i7 system, and not just a CD one? If you open Windows Device Manager, and click on the plus [+] alongside DVD/CD-ROM drives it will show you the details of your drive(s) like mine in the attached screen-shot. I have a BENQ DW1640, and an HL-DT-ST GSA-H22N. What drive details does yours show, please? Brendon
crashagain
My Windows XP SP3 Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, has 2 rom drives. DVD/CD-Rom Drives Plextor CD-R PX-W120A Plextor DVDR PX-706A Driver C:\windows\system32\drivers\cdr4_xp.sys, Sonic Solutions file version 8.0.0.212, not digitally signed, IDE\CDromplextor_DVDR_PX706A________1.07 I was able to play the DVD video Inception on this DVD drive using Real Player, however the Sonic Cine Player had a decoder pack internal error of 2356 on disk 1. I don't use the Sonic Cine Player, I always use Real Player.

They are a lot more inexpensive now, than when you purchased the Plextor.
cdanteek
Open Cineplayer, up top click help, check for updates. Is there one? If so download it to your desktop shut all programs off and run it, reboot the pc and see if Cineplayer works. Your Plextor has a built in check for CD and DVD. Read your manual page 45 to 48. crashagain
First I want to thank Cdanteek, I read your footnotes, I did a dirty uninstall of Roxio Creator 2009 that caused all my problems. I did the clean uninstall, however that was not quite enough. Finally I downloaded ccleaner <ccsetup302.exe>, that cleaned up my registry, and deleted a whole big bunch of junk. I had to perform many installs, and had to do many repairs, and reboots. My Control Panel shows that I have Roxio Creator 2011 Pro, Sonic MyDVD-Vr, and Roxio Photo Show. I have the following applications installed: Creator Classic, Label Creator, Music Disc Creator, My DVD, Photo Suite, Roxio 3D Samples, Roxio Burn, Sound Editor, Video Copy & Convert, Video Wave. The following Items are missing, Roxio Creator 2011 Pro Does not open when clicking on the Icon. Cine Player can't be found in the Program Folder. Can't find Soundsoap, and sonicfire pro. As far as I know, all of these were installed, but got lost somewhere. My final conclusion, don't buy this version, unless you need blu ray. My creator 2009 never had this problem when installing. The creator 2011 pro is totally absurd and asinine, these software developers have to be the most incompetent, I had to download several fixes, that just stayed active on the screen, I downloaded SP1 and installed, guess what it wiped out my whole software suite, and had to start over from scratch. I just can't believe this software could be so &^%$(&*.
cdanteek
I forgot to tell you, there is no Plextor DVDR PX-706A. It's a Plextor DVDR PX-708A, mine died a couple of years ago..
sknis
Can't find Soundsoap, and sonicfire pro. As far as I know, all of these were installed, but got lost somewhere. You can find SonicFire Pro5 in the windows folder for SmartSound. You will find SoundSoap in the BIAS folder. These are stand alone programs so they are not in the Roxio folders. The authorization for SoundSoap is kind of funcky. If you have a previous version you must unauthorize it and then authorize the new one. You forgot the 3D applications. That would be the only reason to upgrade. Creator 2009 did HD if you had the Pro.
