and yes you are correct again -

1. i have to create a disk image file (.ISO) file 1st of each movie I editted. in MYDVD -

2. in copy and convert i select these movies and save the compiled files to a folder. this becomes a .vcpf file

3. then in copy & covert I do FILE>OPEN and select this file - which will be my 3 compiled movies.

4. i select the choose output the disk icon

5. the i tried to burn this file to a DVD (must select in the save to = disk/disk .image

6. i get the DVD burn set up box & check my dvd burner ID

7. then is shows creating DVD then stops with a message saying no SCSI installed or the windows message saying program stoped and mst be closed

sorry about the confusion but i have written so many replies to Roxie Techs and the disussion group - i am having trouble telling what day it is!!!

any solutions will help --

i should add that after you create this compilation file (.vcpf) you must get it in by

1. going to File > Open and select the .vcpf file to burn

2. select the DVD symbol

3. change save to . Disk/Disk Image

4. then you click on the green burn button at the lower right hand of the page.

5. next it will show the DVD burner box

6. insert a DVD

7. it will start to create a DVD then the windows message appears that in must close the program

does this make it any clearer??

Hi Ray,

There is no Copy and Create but there is a Copy and Convert. That may be part of the confusion about the application.

Copy and Convert will not accept a project file from either Video Wave or from My DVD; it will only take a video file - mpg2, mp4, avi etc. If it is taking your project file, you have just discovered something new.

I understand that the vcpf file is a compilation file. How did you create it? Step by step please. I can't seem to do it.

i don't know what else to say except I am trying to burn a DVD using the Roxie Copy & Create software.

i have combined 3 different movies editted on MYdvd and saved (.dmsd)

you can combine these files in copy & create, whick creates a .vcpf file (compilation file).

In copy & Create i tried to burn a DVD using this compilation file and then I receive the windows message saying program has an error and must be closed.

any questions?? -- don't know what else to say -- have you ever done this??

I guess we can’t get through to you…

There is no such thing as “Roxio Copy & Create software”

The only program in the Suite that can read a file with a ‘dmsd’ extension is MyDVD!

Best of luck with this, can’t say we didn’t try…

This is the first time that you mentioned that your are using iso files in VCC. Upto now you have been insisting that you were adding dmsm and dmsd files. No wonder everyone is confused.

How long in time is your whole project, ie, what is the total time of all 3 movies?

that's OK i can live with that -- the real question is Roxie will not burn a compilation (.vcpf file) of 3 movies created on mydvd (.dmsd) or 3 created on videowave(.dmsm) fies. each group was complied using copy & create into 1 .vcpf file. i am not combining mydvd with videowave. i tried each separately for a test to see if either would go. neither was able to burn. when I tried I got a windows message stating the program had a err and must be closed. Roxie tech's ask me to send them a copy of my dxdig file, which i did last Wed

I haven't a clue as to what you are doing. As stated earlier VCC cannot burn dmsm or dmsm project files. They mean absolutely nothing to VCC. The Roxio techs are propably just as confused by your description as we are.

I hope you don’t think anyone can follow that??? :(

Stop using the extensions and supply detailed steps!

For example: ’I created 3 different projects in MyDVD and burned to ISO files.

I added the 3 ISO files to Video Copy & Convert.

When I attempted to burn a disc it responded with an error message saying “I Won’t”…’

We are not Roxio tech support so we have no access to your dialogs with them.

No version of VCC will accept a VideoWave Production file (dmsm), so that never happened… :(

You cannot add more movies to a DVD once it has been burned! Once upon a time there was a way to do this called a DVD+VR project… Most DVD Recorders will use this to record multiple shows too.

However, Roxio dropped years ago because compatibility with Players was next to nothing! I have had 2 DVD Recorders and their VR discs would not play in any other recorder I tried it in!

There are ways of doing this if you don’t mind poor quality ~ DVD’s hold about 1 Hour of quality movie. (2, if you have 8.5 GB’s) If you stay within those time limits it can be done, but you will have to burn a new DVD to get there :D

There is a problem with the install on your PC that has to be fixed first! You have been getting excellent advice from Roxio, DID YOU TRY IT? Everything you listed is sound troubleshooting procedure and is the same thing we you have suggested.

You need to post your PC specs like you see most of us have in our signature blocks.

I had another roxie before Creator 2010 special edition -- I have vista -- I used copy & create to add 3 movies (.dmsd) to create a compilation (.vcpf). I then tried to burn a DVD and received a windows message that the program must be shut down. The roxie techie's have me jumping through hoops-- from complete uninstall & reinstall Roxie c2010 to creating a roxie admin user account on my PC, to telling me to check knowledge base & discussion groups. It's very apparent they do not have a clue what the problems is.

I have tried mydvd & video wave and have no problem burning a DVD but I will want to add future movies to fill up the DVD and copy & convert is suppose to provide this compilation. Any answers??

Sorry for the delay but have been working with the roxie tech's to no avail.

Once you have burned a video DVD there is no way that you can add "future movies to fill up the DVD". VCC cannot do this, never could nor can any other program. Where did you get the idea that VCC could do this?

What you are trying to do is impossible and no "techie" will be able to to it.

If you want to "fill up a DVD" then you will have to wait until you have enough video to do it. Remember a standard 4.7GB DVD can only hold 60 minutes of best (HQ) quality video.

I don't know which "old system" your are referring to. C2010 is also an "old system" since the newest one is C2011. Anyway C2010 still has the compilation feature, it's called Video COpy&Convert as its been called that for several versions already. I don't know what you mean by " tried creating a ISO file to burn but the system wont let you append". Video of course can never be appended to a "finished" iso file or DVD.

How long in time are those 3 movies you trying to add? You can of course use Videowave or myDVD to also combine those 3 movies.
