Mac2Tivo Running In Snow Leopard Not Showing On Tivo Series 2

Question

I have a MacMini, running Snow Leopard. I purchased Toast 10 Titanium today specifically for it's ability to host movies for the Tivo Series 2. I entered the Tivo's MAK, dragged a folder containing videos and pressed the 'Start Server' button on the Mac2Tivo client. The mac doesn't show up in the 'now playing list' of the Tivo. Having previously used the TivoDesktop on Windows, I'm familiar with what should appear.

Running the 'Tivo Transer' app shows the Tivo and it's present list of shows that it has recorded, so I know the connection is working.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Brenda

I checked and it's Toast 10.0.8 and Mac2Tivo 1.1

I solved this problem by restarting both my Mac and my Tivo. Now the Mac shows up in the 'now playing list'.

One problem down, another to go. None of my videos are showing but the Tivo is checking and checking and .... I finally had to turn off my Mac because the Tivo wouldn't respond and the wifi bandwidth was saturated. No other device, laptop, iphone, etc could access the net. Haven't investigated this problem yet. :)

Do a test with a very short video so you don't have to wait long for the outcome. Put the short video in a folder and drag it to the Mac2Tivo window. What is supposed to happen is that the video gets converted to MPEG 2 in the background and is sent to the TiVo's hard drive. If it works then I suggest waiting longer with the lengthier videos. You can use Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder to see if Mac2Tivo is using resources to do the video conversion.
