Roxio Creator 2011

Question

I just bought Roxio Creator 2011 and running Vista on PC. Installed TIVO Desktop Plus and transferred some TV shows and movie to TiVo Desktop and run Roxio Copy and Convert and went to Movies and apparently Roxio does not recognize .tivo file. Does not locate any .tivo file. I have uninstalled both Tivo and Roxio and same thing. Any one got idea how to make this work and what I am doing wrong???

I am having the same issue. Roxio creator 2011 does not see the .tivo files. Any ideas on what i need to do for this to work. This is the only reason why i bought this program. Thanks

Tivo is a supported format as you know.

How have you named your tivo files - some examples please? It may be a Windows issue. When you say that Creator 2011 doesn't see the Tivo files, what do you mean? There are several applications within the suite that you could be using. Open "Edit Video-Advanced" and click to add movie and then navigate to the folder where you have the files. Do you see them? Do you see other video file types?

Hi, i am using the copy and convert function. Once I open that screen, i select "add movie." I movie to "My Tivo Recordings." I get an error message that says: Folder contains files with Digital Rights Management" Technology. DRM cannot be added to a project... I cannot see the .tivo files with roxio. I made sure that I updated the program. I am not sure what else to try. I have been trying to load the program on another computer just to see if that will not fix it, but now I cannot get the disk to load on the other computer. Thanks

Since you posted that you got a message that there is DRM protection, you understand that it is illegal to try to do anything with those files. That is not an error, it is a warning.

Not all tivo programs are DRM protected but the ones you have apparently are. Read this.

I am getting this message on files that are definitely NOT with DRM protection.

In fact just a few weeks ago I used copy and convert on some of those files without issue.

However now copy and convert is incorrectly given a warning that ALL my TiVo files are protected. TiVo does not allow me to even transfer such files.

I should have listened to the warnings before buying this product.

I am not trying to do anything illegal. The software is trying to enforce something that it shouldn't be doing.

It's bad enough that it reduces the quality of the HD recordings even when working correctly.

Off to Amazon to file a constructively critical review. SIgh.

Perhaps you should consider a couple of things

1: Posting a 'me too' to old threads is not very intuitive. You really need to start a new thread

2: Overlooking whatever Tivo may or may not have done, have you changed anything recently on the computer (updates, new installation, ste)?

If the suite worked and then stopped working, something has happened and you will need to look at whatever it was that occurred at the time it stopped. A 'worst case' scenario would involve following the 'clean install' procedures outlined elsewhere.

One thing that some people have found - Internet Explorer 9 IS causing problems - while it may work for some, it causes Creator to fail for others

Has this issue been resolved? I am having exactly the same issue. Windows 7 Roxio Creator 2011 - When trying to access .tivo files with Video Copy and Convert, files do not show up in selection box.

The poster never came back to tell us
