Audio / Video Not Syncing

I've been successful at transferring 10+ hours of VHS to iMovie using Roxio, but with the latest VHS transfer the audio is not syncing whatsoever.

I have no idea what to do and didn't see anything in the forums about it.

Any suggestions?

It is out of sync after importing to iMovie. Is that correct? Does it get increasingly out of sync over time or stay about the same throughout the video? Based on your description I'm wondering if the next tape you convert will have the audio in sync and it is just that one tape that is the problem.

I didn't listen to it before it went to iMovie, so I'm not sure. But at teh beginning of the video it was fine and it did get worse as time went on. I'll check the tape on a VCR to see if it's just the tape.

If it is the tape, any idea of how I could fix it? Is that even possible?

I checked the video on a TV and the audio/video is fine. I'm going to try to re-record it to my computer.

This is puzzling. Is the audio getting late (the audio track is longer than the video track)? If that is the case it may be that the device dropped video frames during the encoding. This might happen if the Mac was busy with other operations during the encoding or the video from the tape was unstable. Try restarting your Mac before doing the capture again.

I was thinking maybe it was that I was having my Mac do something else while recording and that's what happened. Going to do shorter bits (30-40 minutes instead of 90-120) - as I watch it in Roxio so far it's looking good.
