Brendon
Which operating system are you using, Jude? [what version of Windows] Windows has a scheme where it will detect if a drive is having trouble with I/O and sort of 'change gear down' from Direct Memory Access [DMA] to a slower speed called PIO. Unfortunately it doesn't automatically change up again when the problem is cleared and you're left trying to drive on the freeway while stuck in bottom gear. If you tell me what version of Windows you're running I should be able to show you how to reset this. Regards, Brendon
