Roxio = Lucy Me= Charlie Brown

Question

I uninstalled Roxio a while ago because I just wanted to give up. The crashes and the conflicts were too much. But alas.. one last slide show DVD. Now after a couple of hours putting 600 pics in a 30 minute slide show and Roxio tells me the free space of 1.2 terabytes isn't enough so I get a disk full message.."can't save project, disk full" Can't burn it without saving either. Its windows XP.

This software was always buggy as a swamp.

Sure I'll listen to suggestions, but I lost some hours and the suggestions are probably buy something new.

I have a new computer with lots of software on it for this project. but its not Roxio.

WHat is your virtual memory set for? Is your system disc partitioned? How much space on the partition? What is the duration of the images, Do you have music and transitions?

Confirm that you have Easy Media Creator 7/7.5 and not something else. Are you using Video Wave to create the slide show?

Yeah I don't use IE and i never upgraded from 7. I'm trying to make the slide show from Sonic MY DVD slide show which comes in the Photos category under "create slideshow" no music, 2 second transitions all of which now that I look at it.. this is a very crude program not allowing back button to add music later. Windows has a video maker that is better. I wanted to make a slideshow that would still show individual pics on disk too so they could pick photos out. I was in a rush inspecting what it can do. But there's really not much excuse for the rush they were in when making this program. Total cheap short cut program. Buy into the way to do it right later.

thanks for the reply. I think this project is a dead end.

Yes, making a slide show in DVD builder is a pain. It is not much better than the lite (assistant) type application. DVD builder is designed primarily to allow you to burn a disc.

Did you ever try making the slide show in Video Wave? That is the best application to do so. Try it, you will like it.

Here is a set of videos (link) created on Video Wave for a slightly later version but most, if not all, of it will work on V7. Thanks karri.

What about your main issue of getting the disc full error? What are the answers to the questions I posted?

hi.. I had to get into it to check about memory.. I changed the paging file size to initial 4000 and max 5000 or something like that... about double what it was. Wow I got different results. It froze up!! Actually it has been sitting here since yesterday because I had to go do a couple of piano recitals. And Now that I think about it I was making good slide shows just in Vegas as a video. But I wanted to make the slide shows so someone could access the pics as individual files also. I'll have to get into it and see what is the best format. Now I do get the same message as before about memory. I have to restart the computer anyway for it to take effect and so my work is lost on this slide show.

Thanks a lot for the help.

I'll figure out a way .

paul
