New 3D Cameras Coming Soon

BruceLV

Question

I just came back from the first day of CES here in Las Vegas.

Good news for those wishing to be able to video in 3D. Canon has not entered this market. Panasonic has a consumer grade 3D camcorder that does an exceptional job.

What is new is JVC. They have a palm 3D twin lens camcorder. This model won't be available until March. Retail/suggested price $1,999. Check out their website for pictures and specs. JVC's new 3D camcorder Model GS-TD1

Sony has also added a palm sized 3D twin lens camcorder. What sets it apart from the others is that is capable of 1080p. FULL FRAME, meaning left lens is 1080, right lens is 1080. No split screen which would have of the 1080 (540), so totally clear resolution. More great news....the suggested price: $1,499.

Check out this camera and its specs. Sony's new 3D camcorder Model HDR-TD10 Sony's camera won't be available until April.

Side note: Sometime in March, all mgfs of 3D will be meeting to set a universal 3D codec. That's why Sony is waiting to release their camcorder in April to update its firmware.

3D video camera update.....B&H Photo Video has just released, for sale, the JVC 3D video camera. Good news is they lowered the price by $300 to $1,699.00.

Seems the lens quality, based on blog/reviews, say the lens has better optics than what Sony will release in their 3D video camera. The shape of the Sony will make it a poor choice for holding while shooting comfort.
