Re-Installation

BJNeedsHelp

Question

I was having problems with Roxio Creator 2010 .... so I uninstalled it and now I cannot re-install it. I get a message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable ..... click OK to try again, or enter an alternate pathe to a folder containing the installation package "BurnMgrCDB.MSI" ."

Do you have the discs or are you using the downloaded version?

If discs, make a temp folder on the hard drive, copy the contents of the DVD into that and run setup.exe from there

If a download, make the folder but this time open the .exe file with winzip or winrar and extract to the folder, then run setup.exe (it's a self-extracting archive)

I'm using a download version and I do not have Winzip or Winrar. This is the file "RoxioCreator2010_HX19AXC0R13" and it self extracts to a temp folder and automatically starts the install. I don't get a chance to run setup.exe

I'm also now getting an error message which says that "Setup has determined that your configuration does not support any of the included products".

You will need a program which can zip/unzip or rar/unrar archived files, if you are going to do anything at all serious in computing. Even here you are handicapped without one.

Download a copy of the free 7-Zip program from HERE or any of a zillion places on the Internet. It's a free download, and a free, small, and very capable program.

It will allow you to compress and extract files into/from all sorts of archives and self-extracting executables like the Roxio installer file, RARs or ZIPs. It doesn't matter if you prefer WinRAR, WinZIP or 7-Zip or any other similar program, but you need at least one of them and 7-Zip is free.
