Trim Tivo Video In Toast -- How?

waxwing1

Question

I have Toast Titanium 10.0.8. I've used Tivo Transfer to pull a show from my Tivo to Mac. I can open it in Titanium and click edit. It is 30 minutes but I only want a 30 second segment. I've figured out how to use the trim handles to mark the segments that I don't want but then what? How do I save this file to remove those sections. I don't actually want to burn the file. I just want the 30 second clip in a standard MPEG format.

Any ideas?

The Toast editor does not modify the source file. When you mark segments to exclude and choose Save from the File menu (although you may not need to choose Save) the Toast shows the length of the video minus those segments. You now can choose to Convert or make a DVD (or Blu-ray disc if you have the plug-in). That's how to end up with a shorter video.
