I have just begun transferring old VHS to DVD and with the help of these discussion groups, I am starting to "get" it, but not sure what function the "trim"? serves, trying to keep each project at 60 minutes, thanks!

Trim is an editing feature. You use it to "trim" (remove) unwanted sections of video from the start or end of a video clip. It of course can only be used after you have captured the video to your hard drive as a video file.

Trim is not so bad in the 201B version…

Import the file you want to work on:

Note the various controls:

I left the ‘ends’ alone, but have 2 places I want to remove:

Moving to the next step, I would Archive or use the File option to write out the new file. I would give it a new name so that the original is untouched…

You can also work on multiple clips and they will be combined for output.

Give it a try and let us know how you make out with it ;)
