‘Select Image’ Does Not Show With Cd Burning - Creator 9 DE

Recommended Posts

When using the Roxio CD Burning program, the following issues present:

When browsing to the location on the C:\ drive where the files and folders

to be burned are located, the window ‘Select Image’ does not show

ALL file types.

The files to be burned have extensions of .sig, .exe, and .sig.

Therefore, only the folders are showing in the selection window.

Could you please let me know what I could do next?

You could supply some more information for a start. What Roxio program suite do you have and what program from the suite are you using? We will then move your thread to correct forum.

Why are using the "Select image" option? Are you simply trying to archive the files to disc?

Why are using the "Select image" option? Are you simply trying to archive the files to disc?

We are using Roxio 9 on IE 8.

1. When selecting all the folders that need to be included on the CD (one of them being a zipped file), I am getting an error message at the very end of the burning process, saying that it "Cannot Complete the CD Writing Wizard". As I am using CD-R CDs, these CDs cannot be used any more and are wasted as a result. Now using CD-RWs.

2. When selecting the top folder that includes all the folders that need to be included on the CD, the CD is created without errors. However, that CD cannot be used for installation purposes, because the installation fails when the top folder is present on the CD.

When the CD-RW finished burning (approx. 25 minutes),

it looked like that everything was fine. The CD window closed without an

error message, and the CD-RW popped out of the PC.

However, when I inspected the CD-RW, there were no files visible, and

the CD-RW is still empty.

I would greatly appreciate your help in diagnosing the problem and finding a solution. Thank you.

If you're trying to use "Burn Image to Disc", that option is used for burning DISC images [.ISO, .GI, etc] to plastic, not for burning pictures or other files.

We are using IE 8 and not burning pictures. Trying to prep executables to give a customer.

I don't know what "We are using Roxio 9 on IE 8." is supposed to mean. IE8 is not an operating system but just a version of the Internet Explorer browser.

What do you mean by the "Roxio CD Burning program"? There are many programs in the EMC 9 suite (if that is what you really have) to burn a CD. Please tell us the name of the program you are using.

Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? ".sig and .exe? are not image files. If you are trying to burn an "image file" to a CD then that would be a single file (with extension of iso or gi) and there would be no folders involved

sig files:

File Extension SIG

File extension SIG is are small Text files attached automatically to the end of email messages. SIG extensions can be associated with ThunderByte AntiVirus PopMail and Broderbund Sign File as well most email programs.

File Extension SIG Uses

Signature files are used at the end of email messages to designate a business, person, idea or concept. An email signature may include a person's name and title, company name, contact phone number and even a relevant quote. Typical email programs support multiple SIG files with the user selecting the chosen signature from inside the create new message window.

or:

Image format used for signs and posters created with Broderbund graphics software, such as PrintMaster and The Print Shop; can be opened with the program that created the file and possibly with other Broderbund programs or versions, but compatibility is not guaranteed.

or:

The SIG file extension is associated with Microsoft OneNote, a easy-to-use note-taking and information-management program in the 2007/2010 Microsoft Office system with which you can capture your thoughts and ideas in electronic notebooks, where you can easily organize, search, and share them. The .sig files are used for signature files.

We are using Windows XP. First, I wanted to correct the 3 file extensions we need to be able to copy: .zip, .sig, and .exe

I have been using the Burn Image option.

Main questions:

1. Which option of Roxio would allow to copy the file types .exe, .sig, .zip?

2. Is there an Upgrade available for these file types?

Thanks,

Sean

Is there a burn data application available to add these file types .exe, .sig, .zip to a data project?

I used the 'Data Disc' option in the 'Data' section, and I was able to select the files and folders, then copy everything to the CD-RW. I checked the CD, and it looks okay.

For the second step, to find out whether the CD will be working as intended when installing the program, this will have to wait until I am installing another build.

Thanks for now,

Sean
