Easy Vhs To Dvd Stops Recording

ArwenU

Question

I hope someone can help me. I bought Easy VHS to DVD to preserve my old VHS tapes. It installed and worked fine to the first 4 tapes. Now it stops recording after a second of recording. What's different? Am I doing something wrong? I've tried 4 different tapes and the same thing happens every time.

Using the Record-Edit-Save portion, will it work with one of the tapes you previously recorded?

Need to know the VERSION of the software you have, there are 3 of them…

Going to guess you have the 201B version, so you if the Tape Test fails, you will want to do the Prep Steps. Then start to install the software again, only choose the Repair option when it shows up.

I do have the 201B version. last night I tried to uninstall, and kept getting an error message, nothing happened. The repair option did nothing either. I downloaded drivers from the website and rebooted and tried again. The first try recorded 1 hour. Next try with same tape recorded 40 mins. Then I tried your tape test, back to instant failure, seconds only. I will try your further suggestions and see how that goes.

Thanks!

There are NO Drivers for this version anywhere on Roxio's site! No idea what you installed :(

What errors, the text has meaning and tells us what is going on.

At least in most cases, my favorite was "An Unknown Error occured while accessing and unnamed file"

This is what I dl'd and installed:

http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/kb/Creator/000218CR&PARAMS=set-locale=en

Have I screwed up? How would I get rid of it again? Panic!

I'm still following your prep instructions. DirectX update is taking an hour.

Thanks

Thanks, Jim, for all your suggestions. After updating everything, finally the repair function worked, and I have just done a test recording which seemed great!

I hope it will go smoothly from here! Just the one question, do you think I need to delete the folder with the drivers I downloaded?

Thanks again, very much!
