Can anyone tell me in simple terms how I hook up connections for transfering from a tape player (I have a portable RCA tape player,C/D & radio)which has and headphones jack and AUX. jack on the front of player, which way do I connect to so that it will have sound as when I attempted to copy to comp. I get no sound. On the mic jack on the front of the audio capture box my headphones have no sound but when connected to "line out" I can hear sound from tape player.I hope some one can understand my problem and assist me as I have lots of books on tape that I want to convert to C/D.Thanks in advance.

Typically the jacks on the front of a player are for input and not output; that aux and the mic jacks are probably input to the player.

Did you say that you have a line out jack (somewhere) on the player and you get audio from that? Isn't the answer obvious? Is that really a line out jack or is it a headphone jack? You can use the headphone jack but start only at the lowest volume or you could blow your computer audio device. Have you set up your audio recording device on your computer using the Windows controls? The exact procedure depends on your operating system.

It would be easier if you would have not used run on sentences and some paragraph spacing and if you would have posted the manufacturer's model number of the player. Chances are that we could have found the instruction manual for it and would have told you which jacks to use. What operating system are you using?
