IE Version: IE8 (latest security updates and such)
Once Roxio finishes installing, the computer reboots. Starting up Roxio leads to the splash image, followed be another that tells me it's loading up various tools and programs and such. And then right when the Creator home page hits, a setup begins that states there are updates that must be made that can't be done while the computer is on and running. It'll require a reboot to go forth. Hitting OK and letting the machine reboot only leads to it coming up again...and again...and again...and so on.
With a cancel, I'm at the Creator home page. Clicking "Create DVDs" or "Edit Video - Advanced" leads to the "ERROR: Unable to load skin." So, can't do anything there. Copy & Convert video leads to its proper application, but it spits out only 0kb files. Everything on the top row on the home page leads to a short loop of installers telling me stuff needs to be updated and then it must reboot (it's the same thing I mentioned earlier that starts up the second Roxio gets past it's booting sequence). However, after hitting cancel a bunch of times, the respective functions come up. However, I don't know if they actually work, but I have other programs that do the same functions, so I don't care for them (if it's vital that I test them for whatever reason, just say so).
Now then comes the Video/Movies tab. This is where stuff gets really horrendous. Simply hitting "Capture Video" cues a run time error (from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library) with the program "MediaCapture13.exe." Hitting OK lands me on another dialog box with a cut-off file address and the code "R6025 - pure virtual function call." Pretty much every other function here leads to some run time error or the "ERROR: Unable to load skin" ordeal.
I want to use this software for video editing, but it doesn't appear to work at all. Creator 2011 SE is also updated with whatever update came out in September (update wizard popped up, telling me it'd correct issues, but it didn't change at all for me). I've done a complete uninstall (typical uninstall, followed by files held in Application Data/Common Files/Docs&Settings/etc, and reg entires). I've also installed this (MSXML latest), as I read on here that it may help in getting this thing to run correctly, but the situation didn't change at all. The .NET framework on my comptuer is the latest version (3.5 SP1 and 4.0 are installed). The latest version of DirectX (DX 11) is also installed. A "Repair" install didn't work, either. I've installed without my antivirus running (avast!), but it didn't make any difference had I left it on. I'm running the application (and installed) under a brand new account on my machine (as in, it's not on my typical user account, or anyone else, just a new I made just to install and run this).

Anyone know what the trouble is?
