Question

I have an .m4v movie that I have burned onto a blank DVD. The film requires an external subtitle file that burns onto the disc with the movie. However, the movie looks just fine when I play it on my laptop (widescreen with black bars on the top and bottom) but when I have it playing on a DVD player on my TV, the quality is horrible (very pixelated) and the subtitles are partially cropped out. How do I fix this problem?

If it looks fine on the computer then there isn't anything wrong with the disc. The problem seems to be with the DVD Player reading the disc and that likely is more a player (or media) issue than a Toast issue. You might test it on someone else's DVD player. The partly cropped out subtitles could be due to overscan by the TV. Just guessing. In any case, I don't know how you can do anything differently with Toast to fix this.
