Dropped Frames Converting Video_Ts Folders To Dv

stevenJ

Question

I've been converted unencrypted recordings from a DV recorder to DV to edit & reburn to DVD. Getting dropped frames in the audio & video tracks. The frames are present in the TS folder BUT NOT in the exported DV resulting in choppiness.

Importing from a PAL TV and Toast set up as PAL 25 fps.

Any ideas?

Try adding the videos to Toast from the Toast Media Browser. Insert the DVD and choose DVD with the top button of the Media Browser. Drag the contents to the Toast window. Toast then extracts the MPEG video from the DVD. This may work better than converting from a VIDEO_TS folder.

I'm getting a similar issue trying to rip DVD content to a Quicktime file. It drops frames in the same spot no matter how many times I try. I have tried a different file and it has also dropped a few frames in that. The original dvd is fine. It is driving me nuts because I have requested to purchase this software, and now I can't do what I need to do. I'm getting pressure from the people who allowed me to purchase it to fix the problem but I am at a loss. I have recently done a software update on my mac... could it be clashing with another program?

I don't know why this would happen. Walk me through your steps so I know exactly what you're having Toast do so I can test it the same as you're doing.
