blurijj
Hello and much thanks for any help. I have Toast Titanium 9. I try to burn eyetvHD recordings to it. Even when I export the eyetvhd recordings to the Toast format in their list of export choices, Toast takes forever and usually just freezes on me. Some of these eyetvhd recordings are 8 to 9Gb in size. Is there a limit where Toast cannot compress the file enough to get the file to play on a dvd player on a dvd-r disk ? I am debating going up to Toast 10 if someone thinks that would help my situation or possibly to Nero or some other dvd burning program that will also do blu-ray. I would appreciate your thoughts or recommendations. ( I am not burning blu-ray at the moment - but hope to in the future - my problem now is burning solely to dvd disks. ) While I've got your attention in an unrelated matter - do those double-layer dvd disks work on most dvd players or are those just for computers ? Thanks again

I don't know the reason you are having this difficulty. The file size isn't an issue. Are you saying that the video doesn't appear in the Toast window or is it that the conversion or encoding freezes? Try exporting the video from EyeTV as a MPEG Program Stream and add that file to Toast as a workaround. I am debating going up to Toast 10 if someone thinks that would help my situation or possibly to Nero or some other dvd burning program that will also do blu-ray. ( I am not burning blu-ray at the moment - but hope to in the future - my problem now is burning solely to dvd disks. ) If you get Roxio's emails offering discounts on Toast 10 and the cost seems right to you then go ahead an upgrade. I don't know how long it will be before Toast gets upgraded again. While I've got your attention in an unrelated matter - do those double-layer dvd disks work on most dvd players or are those just for computers ? Thanks again The dual-layer discs work on most DVD players manufactured after dual-layer discs became available (several years ago). I recommend Verbatim DVD+R DL discs as some others may fail during the burning process.
