Burning Dmsm Videowave File To Dvd

Phyllis J Soboczenski

Question

I creat a project in Videowave. It previews perfectly. When I try to burn it to a DVD it appears to be working. It shows it working. After about an hour, it says project completed burn sucessful or something like that. When I try to play the DVD on the computer nothing happens. If I open it to view the files it shows VOB and ISO etc. files are on the disc. but it shows 0 space used. Note: when I try to do it in MYDVD instead I get the message that Media selector is not responding. I have windows 7.

What are you using to burn the project fle to the disc?

What program are you using to play the DVD on your computer? Download the free VLC player from the internet. It will play just about anything. Have you tried to play the DVD on a home DVD player/

1. Right. It is VOB, IFO, and BUP files.

2. It actually does play on my DVD player.!! Still won't play on the computer though. Usually they will play on the computer but not on the DVD player so I didn't even think to try it.

Asked again (see post 2), what program are you trying to play the DVD wth? Try the free VLC player.

I tried Roxio CinePlayer and Windows Media Player. Now that I found out that it would play on the DVD player even if it wouldn't play on the computer that helps. I will try the free VCL player too. BTW you two guys are great!!! I was also interested in adding voice over and found an old topic that you responded to that referenced "Kari". I now have her site in my favorite. Thanks again four your help and suggestions.

So what happens when you try to play with Windows Media Player or Cineplayer? Any messages? They should play the DVD without any problem? Can you play other Video DVDs on your computer?

Did you use myDVD to create the DVD?

When you clcik to reply to a post, you will see the word quote in brackets at the begining and the end of the post you want to reply to. Type in your text AFTER the second

and then "Add reply".

Any othe method will end up with you simply getting a post with just the original quote.

This is driving me CRAZY!! After inserting the disc, if I go to My Computer, if says the disc has all free space. When I open the disc, it shows all the video ts files that are supposed to be on it. Windows media player just plays the Title over and over. Cine player plays nothing but the "bar" moves like it is playing something. If I take the disc to my old computer, it shows no free space, shows all the video ts files and plays the video using Power DVD (which I can't put on the new computer with Windows 7) but without the sound track that I added using video wave on my new computer. I used video wave to make the whole poroduction on the new computer and used My DVD to burn it. On my DVD player it plays fine, video and sound, I downloaded the free VCL player and all it does is play the Title frame over and over the same as Windows media Player. Yes, the computer plays other video files OK.

Update: Today I tried again. With the VCL player, I tried looking at all the dropdowns and finally I found that on the "playback" dropdown arrow, by clicking on a Title number I got it to play the video and the audio OK. Still couldn't get any where with Cine Player or Windows Media Player.

WMP does (did not) natively play DVDs. Roxio has a plug in for that. I'm not sure why CinePlayer did't play the disc. It will not play the ISO file.
