Dvd Ripper/burner?

Bob Davis

Question

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered but I couldn't find anything that answered my question clearly enough to commit to spending money on this product.

I have kids and a DVD player in my van, I don't want to keep original DVDs in the car for various reasons (kids will ruin them, damage from exposure to high temps, increased chance of being stolen from the vehicle, ...) so I want to burn copies of commercial DVDs, most of which are Disney (I have kids as I said before). Will this program allow me to make copies of commercial (protected)DVDs and/or allow me to rip the same DVDs to an external hard drive?

Also, I have a video recorder that records in AVCHD format, I'd like to splice together different parts of several videos, kind of like a highlight reel of my kids by cutting out the boring parts. Will the video editing part of this program do that and in such a way that a novice like me can figure it out?

Lastly, I have Terabytes of pics of my kids and need to start doing some picture editing. I've used Gimp a little and like using to tools to remove blemishes, remove items from the background and so on (Clone Tool, Healing Tool, Smudge Tool, etc). Creator 2011 doesn't seem to have this level of image manipulation available, just simple brightness, saturation, crop, and that sort of stuff. Is this true or can Creator 2011 be used to erase something undesirable from the background?

Thanks a lot in advance, I just want to know if this program will meet my needs before blowing the dough. I hate unpleasant surprises when opening a package only to discover it's nothing like you though it was. Thanks.

Copying commercial, copyrighted DVDs is illegal and no discussion is allowed here. In any case neither Roxio nor any reputable software package will do it.

C2011 can be used to edit and burn your home videos.

C2011 can easily fix up blemishes, remove red eye, clone, and a whole lot of other "stuff".
