Won't Load Avi Video

Running wondows 7 brand new computer I7 intel:

I can't get a video to upload. Error message "The following items could not be added to your photoshow" Test.avi

Do you have the free or the Premium PhotoShow service?

The premium service allows:

"Roxio PhotoShow supports video clips in the following formats: AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, MOV, WMV, MP4, M4V, and QT.

The maximum file size of a video clip that can be uploaded to a PhotoShow is 50 MB."

The free service that comes with Creator does not allow any video.

What kind of avi file is it?

Look for and download a free video converter (for example "Any Video Converter") and convert that avi file to a mpg2 or mov file. Make sure that the size of the file is less than 50mb -- that a pretty short video.

I used a small 5 mb AVI. I have the premium service. How many kinds of AVI are there? Since this post I tried a small MPEG2 and a small WMV on two different computers and they won't load either. Didn't try MOV yet. besides the software claims to work with AVI MPEG2 and WMV?? This computer is a win 7 I7 intel machine brand new and the other is an XP machine. neither works.

I have the same exact problem. I have been using the same camera and have been adding .avi or .wmv video (the correct type and size allowed) to my desktop Photoshow 6.0.0 build 857 since we have been able to. I use "Any Video Converter" and tried several types of video and none work. I get the "The following items could not be added to your photoshow" error. I have been a Premium account user for 5 years and just startd with this problem on New Years Eve. I called support 12/31/10 and after a week of not knowing how to help me they forwarded me to the "excelerated problem solvers" on line. Excelerated, HA! I still have not got an answer. Their help desk is very poor! I did find that I could add my video to a photoshow I have already posted to my web page but when I try to download the photoshow back to my desktop version the video is distorted. I took an update in December 2010 that I feel is my problem. I too have Windows 7 (for a year with no problems).

CAN ANYONE HELP ME????????????

Are you donloading the mp4 file? How are you playing it? What do you mean by distorted? What have you tried playing the mp4 file with (application).

Are you just downloading the PhotoShow to your PhotoShow folder?

My initial suggestion is to redownload PhotoSHow 6 build 857 from your account and install it over what you already have. If anything was corrupt then it cleans that up.

Please come and let us know if you have better results.

I am not doing anything different than I had previously to having this problem. The problem is not being able to add the video from my website to my desktop version, it is not being able to add the video to my desktop version to begin with. I should not have to upload it to my website and then reload it to my desktop and play it in Photoshow6 desktop. When I download it to my desktop the video has less clarity as if it lost megapixels.

I had already taken my photoshow off my computer and reinstalled it from my website. The problem is still there.

First, remember that the desktop version has more restrictions than the online version.

You can use only:

Roxio PhotoShow supports video clips in the following formats: AVI, MPEG1, and MOV.

The maximum file size of a video clip which can be included in a PhotoShow is 50 MB.

The on-line version allows:

Roxio PhotoShow supports video clips in the following formats: AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, MOV, WMV, MP4, M4V, and QT.

The maximum file size of a video clip that can be uploaded to a PhotoShow is 50 MB.

I'm a bit confused by "MyWeb site" do you mean your PhotoSHow site and your account page?

Something has changed (obviously) what updates have you done other than PhotoShow? Have you used a registry cleaner? Has anything changed with your internet provider or are you using a different browser.

A few other people have had issues with file corruption and the only thing they were able to do was to delete part of the online version.

If you have uploaded the video, obviously the video is still on your computer; why don't you use that? The uploaded version is reduced in quality for use on the web so it will not look as good as the video on your computer. Are you trying to upload high defintion videos?

Have you tried to download the mp4 version? Does that work?

Why don't I just use that? I do still have the video on my computer but the problem is getting it into my photoshow on my desktop. If I "USED THAT" I would not have a problem.

Have I downloaded the Mp4 version of what? My photoshow? Even if that works it does not fix my problem for the next photoshow I make. I don't know what you mean.

Yes, by "My Web site" I mean my PhotoSHow site and my account page?

I have not added or did anythng different to my computer to to cause this.

Threadjack is adding to a post thast someone else starts. It is bad becasue you may or may not have the same issue and if somone replies, then you can't be sure to whom the response is aimed.

If you have your PhotoShow uploaded to your page on the Internet, then look to the right; you can download it to your computer. It will be in mp4 format. It is a finished movie so editing it must be done with a video editor. If you click the download mp4, you will get a message that it will convert the PhotoSHow to mp4 and that it will take some time. You will get a mesaage from PhotoShow that your movie is ready to download. Make sure that your spam filter does not block the message.

Bottom line please. What is the problem. 1) You could not get the video uploaded. 2) You cannot get the internet PhotoShow downloaded to your computer 3) Fix what problem ? Please simple details. I'm sometimes thick but the best thing you have going for you at this time on this forum.

Please explain what you mean by what I enlarged and bolded. Do you mean that you cannot get into the program or that once you are in, you cannot edit it?

Please take time to carefully discuss the issue. It is hard to follow if you are throwing out terms at random. If you did that with Tech Service, no wonder they could not help you. I fyou don;t like my response. you can call PhotoShow support. You did call PhotoShow support at 1-877-793-7485 and not Roxio support didn't you?

Judyanne, I'm sorry if I offended you but I felt I had to tell it as I saw it. You posted in a thread that was concerned uploading to the web site. I'm still not sure if you have that problem or if your problem was downloading it back to your computer?

I'd be happy to help should you clarify.
