I was converting a Video-TS file to iPod format.

Try this workaround. Place the VIDEO_TS folder on the desktop. Choose DVD with the top button of the Toast Media Browser and choose Video Files as the format in the Toast Convert window. Double click on what appears in the browser window. You'll see each of the titles contained in the VIDEO_TS folder. Drag what you want to convert to the main Toast window. Toast will extract the MPEG video files from the VIDEO_TS. When that is done proceed to do your conversion.

Try trashing the Toast plist and prefs files in the User>Library>Preferences folder to see if that makes any difference. What are you using Toast for that results in the -50 error? When does the error appear?
