Roxio Locks Up When Burning Disc

Installed Roxio, all menus come up, Tried copying dvd -r disc from sony camcorder. select to copy to DVD. Copies file then locks up. Unable to cancel or eject disc. Must reboot computer. Have Alienware computer, Windows 7, Explorer 8.I followed PDF for copying disc to letter, same results. Getting frustrated.

Why not first copy to hard drive and then to DVD?

Why not first copy to hard drive and then to DVD?

Was able to import movie from disc to file folder. Then burn dvd. Should be easier than that if I want to 'copy' disc. Roxio locks up disc drive, only way to eject disc is to reboot. Did this many times. Still learning program, but procedures not as per their help 'How to' , directions. Checked for latest drivers - OK. Thanks for your response. I will keep plugging.

So the problem was trying to read the disc with the copy program???
