Question

Ok, so I've gone threw at least 20 dvd's. randomly when i'm transfering my 8mm videos, when the video is over and i stop recording, it can "finalize" disc for well over an hour, up to 2 hours, then it just stops working, disk is not created, but is not usable anymore. I also noticed when i add a title or a menu it always does this.

I have a big problem trying to understand your post.

If I understand correctly you are capturing from a VHS camcorder/recorder directly to DVD. As a DVD can only hold 60 minutes of best quality video and a max of about 120 minutes at the poorest quality, you will of course run into problems if your source video is longer then 2 hours.

Capturing directly to DVD is a coaster generator as you are discovering. The preferred method is to capture to your hard drive in the best quality available (usually DV avi) and the break up the video into segments that will fir on a DVD at the best quality setting.

I understand how much a dvd holds, I'm not trying to put more than an hour onto a dvd, once the video I'm recording ends, it can take multiple hours to "finish". How do you capture it to your hard drive?
