How To Edit Audio Tags From Windows Explorer- Context Menu

Gerry Matte

Question

Hi there.

I just upgraded my Creator 2010 to Creator 2011.

A standard practice for me is to use Roxio to always edit the Audio Tags for any music that I download. It's very easy within Windows Explorer to right click a folder of MP3 files and select "Edit Audio Tags" from the pop up menu.

With Roxio 2011, I no longer see that option as part of my Windows Explorer pop up file menu. By starting Roxio, selecting Music/Audio, then Edit Song Information I can bring up the correct audio tag dialog box and then hunt for the files I want - but that's a very time consuming and inconvenient method.

Is there a way to add the option to Edit Audio Tags back into my Windows Explorer file right click popup menu ?

Below is the right-click context menu first from Creator 2010, and second from Creator 2011, so others can see what we're talking about. The "Edit Song Information" option.

I'm afraid Roxio has removed lots/all of these context menus from Creator 2011. I don't know if it is 'by design', or to save money, or by mistake - but they've gone. Another backward step, IMHO.

I don't know of any simple way a user can put them back in, I'm sorry.

Regards,

Brendon

Hi guys

I sorted it by adding it to the "open with" part of context menu

1. right click any .mp3 file -> select "open with" then select "choose program"

a new window opens select "Browse"

2. Now browse to the location of the roxio tag editor exe.

(mine was in C:\Program Files\Roxio 2011\AudioCore,

select "RxTagEdit13" click "open" and "ok" in each window respectively.

And Done its there in ur context menu...

You can download the attached file for screen shots.

Why not attach the screenshot directly as a jpg so users don't have to bother with any other program?
