Problem Burning Audio Cds

2.50 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad Q9300

64 kilobyte primary memory cache

6144 kilobyte secondary memory cache

64-bit ready

Multi-core (4 total)

8192 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory

1500.20 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity

1154.55 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

 

hp BDDVDRW CH20L ATA Device [CD-ROM drive]

 

Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) (build 7600)

Roxio Creator 2011 Plus:

Roxio - PhotoShow Uploader Version 6.0.0.833

Roxio - PhotoShow Video Version 6.0.0.833

Roxio Burn Version 1. 0. 0. 4

Roxio Creator Version 5.0.0.0

Roxio PhotoShow Version 6.0.0.833

 

My Problem:

 

I can burn audio CDs using Music/Audio - Create Music Disc Projects - Project Type Audio CD.

 

I can't burn the same type CDs, i.e. same manufaturer(Memorex) on the same drive using Home - Burn Audio CDs.

 

I consistently receive the same errors(see attachments)

I rebooted the PC, disabled all background tasks appearing in the SysTray except Norton Internet Security(I did disable Antivirus) and still have the same problem.

 

Don't Music/Audio - Create Music Disc Projects - Project Type Audio CD and Home - Burn Audio CDs use the same Burn engine? They are both part of the Roxio Creator 2011 Plus software suite.

 

What will running the Repair option buy me?

The one that's failing is a Sonic app..

 

Repair, repairs the installation, SP's have to be reapplied.

 

Try this first (EMC 7.5 Up PX Engine 4.18.16a. Update) # 7 in my signature. Download it, unzip it, and run it, then reboot the pc and try it.

Tried the repair. Got the attached error during the repair. The repair appeared to complete in spite of the error, but after a reboot I still have the same burning problem.

I decided to try a clean install. I attempted to uninstall using Win 7 Programs & Features, but encountered errors so I used C2011_CleanSystem.bat, which performed the uninstall successfully. I will install tomorrow excluding updates. If that doesn't solve the problem I will contact Tech Support. If it does solve the problem I will install updates and keep my fingers crossed.
