Ed C.
Just installed Creator 2011 and connected my Sony HDR-XR350 via USB but program is not recognizing the camera. My laptop does not have Firewire so USB is the only connection choice. How do I fix this problem? Thank you.

Simply use Windows Explorer and copy just like from any other hard drive. If Windows Explorer does not see the connected camcorder as just another device then you have problems with your system and not with C2011

Ed C.
In what format are the videos? Why do you want to convert? What steps are you taking to convert? You do have to supply some information. The movies I copied from my camera are in MTS format. Am I correct to assuume that I need to convert these files to WMV or MPEG in order to view them? I'm trying to find the best way to organize and archive my videos so I can delete from my camcorder harddrive. I also want to use these to create a movie. I hope this helps. THanks. Jim_Hardin
The MTS file format is fully supported and has been for some time... There are 2 conveters in the 2011 Suite that will do it plus the Editor (VideoWave), so there is no need for a 3rd party conveter...

The only reason to convert is if you want to shrink the files size, but you also lose video quality depending on file format and amount of compression.
