Roxio Easy Audio Capture

O Fiaich

Question

I have just purchased Roxio Creator 2011 and instaled it on my computer , but Easy Audio Capture wont work, I have uninstaled the programe and then instaled it again and it was still the same , so I uninstaled all Roxio programes on my computer and instaled Creator again and it is still the same , in the drop down menu it shows "Realtek Digital Output(Realtek High Definition Audio)" But is not picking up the sound on the slider and when I record there is no sound on the recording , it also shows "Speakers(Realtek High Definition Audio)" in the drop down menu, when i select this option a popup says "could not open sound device", I am not impressed with Creator 2011.

1) It sounds like the audio device is not set properly in your OS. You didn't say what your OS is.

2) Are you using "Capture from Sound Card" Did you try "Digitize..."

3) Select all the options you have one by one to see which one works.

4) Many on-board audio chips do not allow you to hear what you are capturing; you have to go by the dancing bars.

What is the source of you music - turntable, tape player, etc? Did you connect the source directly to your audio jack in on your computer? Make sure you are using the right jack. If you have a laptop, connect to the Mic jack but be careful that you start the setting low or you will blow the audio chip.

Please explain what I bolded. Itunes downloads are digital and are not captured. You can burn them to a disc using the ITunes application once they are on your computer.

You capture from a tape deck, from a turn table or from an on-line site that plays music - line Pandora. You capture what you hear on your computer.

You can rip music from a disc to your computer using the 'Rip " or "Rip Advanced" application under the music tab. Rip is simply taking the digital audio music from the disc and copying it to your computer.

Please fully explain what you are trying to do since it doesn't currently make sense.
