Hi BBowey -

Have you done any trouble shooting so far to resolve the issue? I just don't want to repeat any steps :)

Thanks,

Do you have a support ticket filed with us?

no l do not...how do l go about doing that ?

You can do so here: https://selfserve.roxio.com/Login.aspx

I'm asking because you are the second person I've seen today with this exact error on Vista and it's not a common error. So that leaves the OS or a program conflict.

Have you ever had any other capture programs on your computer before this?

One thing you may want to try is making sure you are installing the application as the administrator and - before clicking the setup.exe - right click it and choose "run as Administrator" and see if that helps.

yes, l have captured video footage via Pinnancle Studio 14 on this computer and also edit on this.

Just tried running as Administrator, but didn't work. I am going to remove it and try installing again as Administrator and see if that works...otherwise l'll log that service request.

What a coinky-dink. The other user *also* had Pinnacle on their system. Are you sure I'm not helping you out on Twitter as well?

If I'm not, then there is possibly a conflict between Pinnacle and our software.

Have you removed all the Pinnacle software and drivers before installing Easy VHS to DVD?

oh wow, no, it's not me on twitter, promise...l don't use twitter..

no l haven't removed Pinnancle, as l still require this software on the computer.

still no good, install didn't work, looked like it was running well, but no go. Any further suggestions ?

OK, I really think it's the Pinnacle, but if you are still using it, then I understand why you want to keep it.

Let me ask some questions and I'll see what can happen. But not sure how far we can go if it really is a Pinnacle conflict.

Thanks Jon, I got a little tied up and hadn’t had a chance to get back :(

BB: it wouldn’t really take that much to uninstall Pinnacle and V2D, then do an install of V2D as an Administrator account…

We need to see if that makes it functional!

Then you can install Pinnacle again and the 2 should get along together. If not, Jon needs to know that! Then he can get the Engineering Team to look into it :o

This way it’s a Win Win! :D

Roxio learns of a problem and you will get a Fix or even a Band-Aid to get you going ;)

Hi Jim & John,

No win win here, it failed...still getting the same error message...

Now l have no pinnancle on that computer and your program still doesn't work...sorry l'm slowly losing patience with this program...!!!

Any chance we can fix it to renew my faith with it...

The uninstall was just one part…

I would use Revo Uninstaller Set to Moderate mode, to remove any and all of V2D!

Then follow that by the Prep Steps and lastly an install of V2D.

The only time I ever had a problem with V2D (Certificate Error) was on a PC with a HDD that failed shortly thereafter  . It was not really a program issue but a case of Win7 slowly going insane

Of course after this you can put Pinnancle back on, you only removed it to confirm that there was not a conflict between Roxio and it...
