Fuse 2 Files Under 1 Menu Chapter

I have part of a clip on one VHS tape and the remainder on a second tape. I want to put them both fused under one menu choice on a DVD. Is there a way to do this on version 201B23A? I know I can record one VHS tape and then remove that tape and place another VHS tape in the VCR while the recorder is still running and then edit out the gap, but I was wondering if there is a way to splice two fragments together (I realize they will also fuse together on the DVD if I do not use the menu feature - but I would like to keep them together under one menu choice).

I played around with a couple of hunches but nothing worked…

 

There may be some freeware out there but it might be time to consider moving up to the Creator Suite???
