Win 7 Install Issue With V2D

Ken G

Question

I appreciate any help with a Win 7 install issue not addressed in prior posts - I am trying to install a new "boxed" (e.g. CD) version of V2D which is clearly labelled for Win7 - but when running install I get a "not compatible with your OS" warning which disables install - it lists accepted OS including Win 7 Home Premium - which I have. I have updated all Win 7 updates including IE, DirectX, etc. and disabled anti-virus, and all startup programs as recommended- Any ideas?

Intel® Core™ i5 processor i5-760, quad 2.80GHz cores, Hyperclocked to 3.6GHz

Jim, thanks for the prompt reply. I saw this but didn't realize it applied to V2D. Only issue is, I don't understand how to right click on the "setup package" - the setup program starts and defaults without an opportunity to modify the "compatibility" tab. If this is obvious, I apologize in advance. . . .

:glare: ... you may have to copy all of the files and folders off of the disc into a new folder on your HDD.

The main things are you must install with an Administrator Account and you must NOT ever use compatibility when installing.

hi jim: i have gone into the setup as suggested, un-ticked the boxes but it still does not install ? any other suggestions

As far as I know, that is all there is... I have never heard of it, Not Working

You may want to try this. Create a New User Account with Administrator privileges.

Copy all of your files from the disc onto your PC (create a new folder)

Do the Prep Steps.

Reboot at the end of those, and log on that new account.

Then run the install from that folder making sure compatibility mode is OFF for Setup.exe.

Dont worry Jim

i got my reply from roxio, see below.....

Dear Stuart,

Thank you for contacting Roxio Customer Care.

After reviewing your notes, I understand that you are facing installation issue with Easy VHS to DVD.

I would like to inform you that, the software purchased only after January 2010 will compatible with Windows 7. Since you have older version of Easy VHS to DVD which is no longer compatible with Windows 7. So I suggest you to repurchase the software to fix this issue.

For further information, please revert by updating this web-ticket and we'll be more than glad to help you further.

Sincerely,

Andrea
