Video Corruption On Mp4 Files

Jim77433

Question

Roxio Creator 2011 Pro with all available updates.

Lower right part of screen is excessively white 4.5 seconds into MP4 file, it lasts for 15 frames (.5 sec).

Behavior is consistent using VideoWave, Video Copy & Convert, MyDVD preview, MyDVD produced DVD, CinePlayer, Media Manager preview thumbnail.

The video plays without issue in Windows Media Player 12, Windows Live Movie Maker and Windows Media Center.

Other same source videos have a similar distortion in the lower right at different points but generally for 15 frames.

The attachments are two photos of the monitor showing adjacent frames.

Thanks to any and all that spent any time thinking about this.

I tried running with just one CPU, same result.

I viewed the file on an Intel based system(Lenovo X61 Tablet, Windows 7 without SP1) using DivX 8.1.2 and got the same corruption. So it's not hardware and it's not Roxio.

New Infomation: Nero Multimedia Suite 10 Platinum HD shows the same exact problem in the same exact way.

DivX player shows the same exact problem in the same exact way.

Apple Quicktime does not have the problem.

Sony PMB does not have the problem.

I went so far as to completely uninstall Creator and Nero still shows the problem.

I near as I could tell, I set Video Wave to "Render using Software" and saw no change.

I am begining to wonder if this could be Hardware but have no idea how to test it.

Another person is complaining that he could not get the program to run with a 6 core AMD processor at all. When he selected to make only 4 cores active it seemd to work for him. How many cores do you have active?
