Video Is Fine But Audio Is A Screeching Noise

wayneJohnston

Question

I have just acquired and installed VHS to DVD. The video works fine but the audio is a screeching noise that shifts up and down in volume. None of the actual audio comes through at all.

Is there any solution for this?

I am using a composite video connector (yellow, red, white).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried another tape?. Does it work ok when plugged into your TV?.

The tape itself plays fine on TV.

I'm considering borrowing another VHS player to see if that helps.

As a test use a DVD player.

Well, I tried a different VHS player and it worked perfectly.

My VHS player plays to the TV with no problem but for some reason the Roxio product doesn't like it.

Anyway, I can live with that; I'll just use a different machine from now on.

Thanks for the help.

Only in Canada EH ;)
