Web Video Doesn't Capture

mjjtech

Question

I upgraded to Toast 11 Titanium Pro just to see if this would fix my recent issues surrounding Web video capture that I was experiencing with Toast 10. It hasn't changed. I'm having the same issues in 11 that I was having in 10.

For some reason all of a sudden I can't seem to capture video from the Web using the Toast. I have followed the correct procedures. I've tried captures from YouTube, Vimeo, Vevo. Nothing is captured.

Is there any fix to this situation. Is the issue related to a flash update? Roxio please help me fix this problem.

When you say not being capture, do you mean the video isn't even showing up in your Media Browser OR is it showing up, you are selecting and nothing is happening?

And you say this happened to you in 10 as well?

This is related to to the latest flash player update. I have a second drive where I didn't update the flash player plug-in. I deleted the new plugin (Library/Internet plug-ins/flash player plug-in) made a copy of the older plug-in from the second drive and then inserted it into Library/Internet plugins on the first drive. Thing went back to working normally again. I will attach a copy of the old plug-in to this post.

sorry- can't seem to attach plug-in.

Hey man - saw your email. Thanks a ton. I actually figured out how to backtrack, uninstall Flash and then find the last version of Flash. What a pain!

However, the video finally shows up in the Media Browser. I knew something was rotten in Denmark when my buddy said "Oh, I updated Flash...but that couldn't POSSIBLY be the problem, could it?"

So, it looks like it plays nicely with

FLASH 10,1,102,64

So, since this is Toast 11.000000 - hopefully they'll update it to fix it - along with the host of other issues people are having.

But, for now, it's working on YouTube - going to try other sites.

Thanks for your post - it helped me solve this!

So how I can I fix this. I understand people are stating its due to a flash plug-in. Is there somewhere that I can uninstall the current plug-in and download the plug-in that will work with Toast Web Video in Media Browser.

I just purchased Toast 11. Thinking this would fix the recent issue I was having with Toast 10. I couldn't capture web video like I was able to perhaps less than 2 weeks ago.

Hey there -

What I did was google "flash uninstaller" and "previous version of flash" - both are available on the Adobe site. Run uninstaller, then reinstall an old version of Flash. If you look above, you can see the version number I used.

NOTE - when you download the old version of Flash, it has a TON of developer versions in the .DMG file. However, in that mass of versions, you can find the actual version to install - it will just say the build number.

It takes a moment of your attention to get the right pieces, but it works.

Thanks for the plugin. If anyone else is having the same problem. I suggest using the adobe flash uninstall, then hunt around for an earlier version of flash an place that in your internet plugins folder. It worked for me and I'm so grateful for the help of pupdocdiver.
