Video Jumping.

Jaybird8

Question

Hey all,

I currently bought the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD software package and installed it with no troubles.

It is build 201B23A and it is running on a Acer Laptop 7540G;

AMD Athalon II X2 Processor

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 graphics card.

3GB Memory

DVD Super Multi DL drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N SATA).

320 GB HD

Everything is actually working the way it should with one exception.... If I play a video from my VHS through the Roxio device it plays just fine with no video stuttering. However, as soon as I click the 'record' icon then I start to see stuttering/jumping in the video. Audio seems ok.

Is this a driver problem? Hard drive RPM issue? how might I go about fixing this?

There is nothing else running on USB, wireless network card is shut off, and I'm running on a minimal boot up (next to nothing on start up).

Any ideas for me to try?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There is only One set of Drivers for that version so that is pretty much covered.

There are 14 models of that AMD processor, w/o the model number one can only guess. But they all seem to at least meet the minimum spec for the software.

Defrag your HDD and check the Free Space.

Make sure your Video Card drivers/software are up to date ~ AMD

Turn off everything else while capturing. Everything!

If no change, then do the Prep Steps to the letter!

Then start to install of the Suite, only pick Repair when it is offered.

Let us know how you make out ;)
