Sometimes users find it helpful to insert the device after the application is launched. Also, be sure to connect directly to the Mac and not to a USB hub.

tx for the answer - unfortunately, it's not working (device on/off, direct USB from the Mac, before or after launching the program (which ask to connect

the USB to the device, but when done, no signal at all, also try several type of VHS)...

I had a defective connecting cable so maybe you're experiencing the same problem. Fortunately I had a similar cable from an EyeTV Hybrid device and it worked so I didn't need to return the Roxio unit as defective.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I have just bought this and same problem. I cannot get an audio or video signal.

Maybe your situation is different. What Mac do you have? Are you connecting directly to a built-in USB port or through a hub?

i did get it to work the first time and was successful in copying a vhs to dvd

what am i doing wrong this second time?

Oftentimes it helps to plug the device into the USB port after launching the application. Give that a try. Make sure you are using version 1.0.3.
