Toast 9 Freezes

paddy

Question

When I launch toast to burn, often it starts to read lead in and goes no further. There is no way out other than to force quit. Then if I try to do anything else with it the burner disappears and I get a message that there is no burner available. This is incredibly frustrating as I have been using Toast for years and never had this problem until using Toast 9 with Mac 10.6.6.

I have tried trashing the preference file and rebuilding permissions with Disk Utility but to no avail.

Is anyone able to give me a hint as to what is happening?

Patrick

This can happen if the optical drive goes to sleep waiting for Toast to complete the encoding process. Toast has trouble waking up sleeping drives. The workaround is to choose Save as Disc Image instead of clicking the burn button. When the disc image is finished select it with the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window and now burn the disc.
