Adding Music To A Slideshow

llygra

Question

Having just acquired Toast Titanium 10 in the hope that it would make burning discs playable on a household DVD player much easier than the software included on my Macbook Pro I would like to know if I can add music from iTunes to a slide show to be burned to a DVD in Toast. Any help would be much appreciated.

You cannot add music to a Toast DVD slide show. You need to use iDVD to accomplish that pairing.

Disappointing but thanks for that. My problem is that I cannot seem to get slide shows made in iDVD to play on my home DVD player although the SILENT Toast shows play alright using the same DVD+R. I'm pretty novice at all of this. Maybe I should go back to Windows!!!

It's odd that the iDVD slide show isn't playing. I'm presuming it does play okay on your Mac with DVD Player. There are only a couple things I can think of to try differently. One is to burn to DVD-R discs instead and the other is to save as a disc image with iDVD and have Toast burn that disc image using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.

Use Iphoto. drag all you want to add music. Click on the Play triangle. when it opens, click it again and a small box menu open, choose Music and choose itunes file and drag each song in space. then play, your sideshow will play each song in order. better yet, read the "HELP" in the menu bar I have created a few shows with Sinatra and big Bands and you'll be able to burn to blank dis also,,,NickD

That is a good suggestion. However, the slide show created that way is actually a movie of slides. The DVD slide show feature used by Toast and iDVD treats each image as a chapter on the DVD and presents better picture quality.
