Toast 11.0.1 Update Failing

BradMacPro

Question

Toast 11.0.1 (678) update found but the installer fails after downloading the 81.8 MB updater. The application is in a folder in my Applications folder. I even force quit Toast so the installer could proceed. I still have Toast 10 as well. Could that be the issue?

install.log:

The Toast 11 Titanium folder needs to be in the Applications folder and not inside any other folder. Toast remains open while the update is installed. I needed to click on the updater to get it to appear as the front window. When the updater completed Toast quit and relaunched, at which time it went through the set-up assistant steps.

I renamed the folder to just Toast Titanium and checked the permissions for the folder and made sure that applied to the enclosed items. Ran the updater and this time it completed, creating a empty Toast 11 Titanium folder.

I suggest deleting the Toast 11 folder and reinstalling from the original installer, and then do the updater again. You might also trash the toast plist and prefs files in the User>Library>Preferences folder. I also had the empty folder (at least the icons were missing) after the update on one Mac.

Thanks tsantee, but perhaps the previous post was not clear, but I got it to update.

That's good. I was confused about the empty Toast 11 Titanium folder given my experience with everything disappearing from mine.

You SAVED me. I was going berserk and must say that the Support help was… well I prefer not to waste adjiectives, but RIDICOLOUS could be a good choice.

Many, many, 10.000 times many thanks.

Oh, I simply changed the folder (crazy) permissions and applied them to all the enclosed items
