Bun5

adiru

Question

Many times if I insert a blank DVD to burn, a file called 'bun5' is placed on the DVD. This then makes the DVD unrecordable and I have to insert another. The culprit seems to be Roxio creator 2011 because the disc is then named Roxio. Any help in overcoming this problem would be appreciated because I'm getting tired of throwing out blank DVD's that won't burn.

Thanks

I'd check your computer for a virus to be honest. I've never seen a 'bun 5' file in any Roxio product.

In fact, the ONLY thing I can find in google is either a Cisco Server (bun-5) or a Shanghai Server (bun5.com)

Did the same search and found the same. As far as a virus is concerned, regular scanning with zonealarm and AVG. Also regular malware scans. I thought the same thing. What's weird is the fact that the DVD shows up with a Roxio title which I have not entered.

It's definitely not a Roxio file and I've never seen one like that (and I've been using this software since it was Adaptec CD Creator 3)

A bell is ringing somewhere in memory that there was a 'bun' associated with NTI CD/DVD maker - did you ever have that installed?
