Easy Vhs To Dvd No Video Signal..

Hello people,

I have recently purchased the roxio pack with usb adapter version 201B23Avhs in the UK, having read 4 rave reviews saying how easy it is to use.. connected up with my bang and olufsen video recorder, have only briefly had a 90 second view of a video with no sound. The Sound Editor works with the the scart adapter, and I have tried with an S-video lead and a yellow composite lead - I have tried various other cameras with video output with no avail - still the pulsing 'searching for video signal'. I have reinstalled, repaired, up dated, tried each of the 6 usb 2 inputs on the machine, removed the usb extension... I have a UK VCR so scart adapter used with highend spec (gold plated apparently..) using Svhs and composite leads ( but not at the same time....)

 

I have an HP Dc7100 pentium 4 3ghz, 1 gb ram, 80gb drive, avg antivirus, Nvidia Geforce GT220 and an addled brain after fiddling with this kit for 2 days..

Sorted this frequent problem by downloading a free ware video capture program called DEBUT Video capture,(http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html?gclid=CNiT05r24KcCFYFB4Qod9GAW8A) allowed me to select which video capture device,ie the usb 2861 one, and bingo it works! Using the composite connections (yellow/red/white via scart adapter) - s video gave me black and white only - at least i can now record the video I wanted and edit the files with the rest of the roxio programme - 3 days of pfaffing about with cables un installing etc - its the soft ware issue not allowing me to swap between webcam/cctv/ and the usb. Hope this helps someone else not to waste their life with 'Easy vhs to dvd' ....Sorry guys, I know you love this programme, but..

Most problems we get on here from users with Scart cables end up being the scart connector. In your case it would appear yours is ok as it works with the other program you used, but for the price of a new one its worth a try.

Sorry Doc, I own that software and you left a lot of important info out of your post… Perhaps you were not even aware of this yet…

 

Want a backup CD? It costs you Extra…

 

Want Support? It costs you Extra…

 

 

It cannot even capture at normal DVD Quality settings…

 

 

Need to Edit your capture? Extra…

 

Want to Burn your capture to disc, make a DVD? Extra…

 

 

When it is all said and done end up paying as much or more than you would for the full Roxio Creator 2011 Suite. And you still need to purchase a capture device

 

But if you would like to troubleshoot your V2D and get it working, be glad to help you.

 

We have seen that the vast majority of UK users have a problem with their SCART adapter. Tony provided a link to a good one.
