Title Pages / Slides Insertion

azdrugrep

Question

Here I am still stumbling around in Creator 2011 land.

Presently working on a slideshow in Videowave.

Would like to insert title pages ie slides into the slideshow.

Quote from manual "From the Effect Selector, drag any transition to an empty transition panel between 2 video clips in the Production Editor"

I am assuming a "transition" could be a title page/slide. When I try to do this, I get a black circle with a crossbar which indicates to me that the click and drag did not work.

So far the best I can do is get "text" overlaying my slides/photos.

This seemed a lot easier in Creator 9.

Any help would be appreciated.

It is the same as Easy Media Creator 9. Add a color panel of your choice, click to go to the Internal Track and add the text to that. You can then apply effects if you need to. And then transitions after that. You can then move that color panel anywhere and the text stays with it.

It works basically the same way as in EMC 9. In the Storyline view, right click on a blank panel, and click on Insert Color Panel. Pick the color you want, and click OK. Now add text to that new colored panel.

If you have a group of photos, before which, you want the title page to appear, right click on the first photo, and click on the Insert Color Panel..... Once you click okay, the panel will be placed before that first photo, and all photos will be shifted one panel to the right of it.

Title page panel have nothing to do with transitions, so you were looking in the wrong place.

Thanks Bruce, sounds good and easy, didn't see that in the manual.

Unfortunately, my first try the text didn't stay with it.

However I am able to carry the colour panel and then add the text later.

Small problem here, when I preview, the text carries over to the next photo.

Does that only happen in Preview? Does that change when I change the time between photos?

Hey Bruce, I am able to move the colour panel without text then add the text later.

Does this only happen in Preview? Does this go away when time is set to 4 seconds?

PANIC STATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously I am not inserting text into the color panels the proper way.

What to do???

Lets do a simple project: create a single slide with text on it

Launch Videowave

Select the storyline

Right click on the #1 panel and then click on Insert Color Panel”

From the “More Colors” window that opens select the color for the blank panel.

Click on the created colored panel and then click on Add Text Effect in the Add Content task panel.

A new window opens “Add Text Effect”

Select a text style to use and click Ok.

A new window opens giving you 2 options.

Select the option to add the text to the Internal Track.

In the preview window you should now have a text box containing “Type Your Text Here”

Make any modifications to the text you would like.

When done click on the “Done” button in the lower left corner.

You are now returned to the main tracks.

Using Add Video/Photo add some pictures to some of the other panels.

Play the simple slideshow and you will see that the text only shows for the one panel.

Drag that panel to another position and play the show again. You will see that the text stays with that panel.

I would suggest that you do some experimenting with a simple project like this to become familiar with some of the many features available before you try to create a full slideshow. Trying to do a full-blown project without doing some initial experiments usually leads to a dead end and other problems.
