Question

I would like to share the following dialogue with the Roxio Community:

QUESTION: Does VideoWave allow to replace short video clips with still picture/s without affecting the native audio? I have recorded a conference speaker and find some blurred sections which I would like to replace with pictures and insert some PP slides.

Thanks

RESPONSE FROM Digital Guru

If you SPLIT to insert something you disturb the Audio Track, sooo…

Quick & Dirty: You open the Internal Tracks and add your Pictures on the Overlay Track. – position and adjust the length as needed.

Fancy: You Extract the Audio from the project.

Mute it within the Internal Track.

Split and Cut your bad spots out.

Insert your pictures on the Video Track in the cut areas.

Add any transitions you might want before and after them.

Add the extracted Audio track to one of the Audio Tracks – music – narration.

This way your audio timing is maintained and you have smooth transitions to your substitute shots

This can also be done to ‘splice’ in video from a different angle.

I think the "quick & dirty" method is actually the better method since it will not disturb the audio at all.

The problem with the Fancy method is that you may easily run into difficulties trying to resync the audio with what is going on in the video.
