Roxio Game Capture - Real Capture Specs!

Cauptain

Question

Hello guys,

I did pre-order the capture card Roxio Game Capture.

I live in Brazil and will take nearly 20 days to get here. Until then I have doubts about it and I just need someone to answer.

Who can answer:

- It captures at 480p@30fps or 480p@60fps? (For check this, open Virtualdub in CAPTURE AVI mode, select OVERLAY and turn on any PS3/X360 60fps game, in status bar you see)

- Can I use any VFW codec in the recording?

- Its uncompressed AVI or compressed AVI??

- Its select 16:9 or 4:3 at the time of recording?

- Using other software, it can record in MPEG2?

- The recording software will be sold separately?

Thank you in advance.

It captures at 60fps

The codecs aren't selectable as options within the roxio software, only the containers.

It appears to capture by default uncompressed. It looks fairly nice, I have a 25 minute video that is roughly 6.5GB.

Defaults to 4:3. I think 16:9 is possible, but I haven't looked for it yet.

- Using other software, it can record in MPEG2?

I am going to test this tomorrow night, but I suspect it should work, as the roxio is detected in device manager as a sound/video device.

Not sure. It won't be free on the site, as there is a CD Key required to install.

Answers in bold. Hope it helps.
