Mine is doing the same thing. Just installed a new ati video card and wondered if that might have caused it. Cannot find any definitive answers on the web.

To both of you, mine works fine. It is on the desktop used below.

Without more information we would have to guess. Please answer these questions (link). If your replies have different equipment and or operating systems, the posts will be split to address your particular issues.

My specifics are as follows:

1. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1

2. HP Pavilion dv8

3. 6GB RAM

4. Nvidia GeoForce GT230M

5. Intel i7 Processor @1.73GHz

Well that got some of the answers asked for. Did it ever work properly? What are you trying to play? Some blu-ray discs do not allow you to use a mouse. Is that what you are trying to do?

I went back and uninstalled Roxio Creator 2011 including Cineplayer. Deleted all directories related to program. Reinstled without installing any updates and it is working fine once again. Seems like the latest Cineplayer (March 2011) update is the problem.

It is a update for Blu-ray disc copy protection!

Get used to it, doesn't look like it will ever quit with the BD format..

I see there is already another Cineplayer update (April, 2011 date) that is indicated as codes and BD+. So I'm wondering what this "critical" update was dated March, 2011 and if some erroneous code was fixed maybe? The sizes of the updates are identical.

First of all, Hi everyone! Hope there is a solution for my problem.

Here's the situation:

First I was using Roxio Cineplayer to play bluray movies, then the software recommended an update. I choose the April 2011 update since it is more recent. After running the setup the Roxio Cineplayer just uninstalled itself! It didn't continue with a the update, so now I'm stuck and I don't know what to do.

Have this happened to someone else?

Thanks in advance!

Operating System (including service packs): Windows 7 Home Premium SP1

Make: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

Model: G73Sw

Video card : nvidia GEFORCE GTX 460M

Processor speed: i7 2Ghz

RAM: 8 GB

Free hard drive space: 14.2

I last did an operating system update on: Don't Remember, last week maybe.

Did you install it from the net or download it to your hard drive and run it from there?

Did you reboot the PC?

Hi, thanks for the quick response,

1. Roxio Cineplayer was preinstalled on this laptop.

2. The update was downloaded automatically by Roxio software updater, after reboot it didn't run anything.

It is a OEM from Asus then.

Your only option is to contact Asus.

You never answered if you rebooted?

Uh sorry, yes, I rebooted and it didn't do anything... I'll contact ASUS if it was embedded with the OEM.

Thanks!

Ok, so I wanted to share my results on this matter in case anyone else encounters the same situation as me:

Diagnosis: Roxio Cineplayer updates but only removes previous installation and after reboot does nothing.

Laptop: G73S series from ASUS, Win 7, i7 2.00 GHZ, 8 GB RAM.

Solution:Download Sonic DVD software package from ASUS downloads official site.

Thanks everyone!
